Well the year is almost over, it is time to start the creative engines go full force forward or die trying....
I had this idea being bounced around in my head for almost year now and anyone that knows me knows how much of a deep thinker I am on many subjects big or small.
I'm not happy being in Dublin as an artist, it's an artists living grave to be quiet honest with you between every day's stress and issues and how shit is going in this country right now unless you have money to splash out on hobbies, fancy equipment, clubs or studios.... Well I don't think this city encourages people to explore the arts as much as it should nor do people get together publically to encourage others to get together and work on some insane projects that are open for all levels of art to join in.
Over the years I was lucky enough to meet some INCREDIBLE local artists, painters, models photographers crafts people you name then and you know what is one thing that seems they all have in common, but truly has bugged me? Because they don't do their art in mainstream style , don't come from artsy families that are well known or their art is more on the alternative side they get no recognition for that they do in Ireland yet they influence people around them and are such a big inspiration for us to keep creative thinking going. I would have not ever meddled in photography as much as I have in the last few years if it wasn't for them sitting there explaining technical stuff to me like how Photoshop works or just feeding me different inspirations for my very own pieces of work and introducing me to works of some of the most unique international artists out there.
Ireland has this mental state still stuck in the 80s and anything on the "taboo side" they try to kill it with fire. In a way I feel that this country is still being under the Catholic thumb that is more transparent, but it's effects are still felt on peoples lives and art communities and media in general in Ireland as it caters to that kind of thinking and then complains more younger people have no interest in their nonsense.
So far I have a small group of people on speed dial when they are "Off work" who are willing to help me out with my own crazy projects, but I hope we can find more likeminded people who will be interested in joining us on our artistic journeys and whom we can help with their projects too in the future. Hopefully this starts being more of a frequent thing and more groups form and inter collaborate and we all can share all of the projects we worked on to show what we can achieve working as a team.
None of us are a pro, but we all have a passion for art and we work with what we got at hand to grow this passion into something bigger hopefully one day, I want it to be a learning curve and drive for those who have not the best equipment and very limited funding to find like minded people close to them and change their mental thinking to be a bit more braver to try something bigger with the help of fellow artists and just keep on going further in their art endeavours.
Our city is our playground so lets just take it into our hands and make something unexpected and unreal looking out of it.
So what Plans do I hope to get done in new years (hopefully)?
Safety and trust will be a really big deal for us so I personally will only vouch for people I know myself for years that I have worked with and we may need to turn some people down due to the nature of not everybody will be able to work together as this shit sadly happens , but we will give a chance to people as much as we could, but will also be very big on getting feedback from the groups on new members and how to avoid all shit going south. Our group may not be able to work with few individuals don't take it personal, but doesn't mean you cannot start your own groups as lets be honest my little group focuses on photography, but we hope to get videographers there performers and artists of all calibres in different groups following their passions and different groups will have different skillset needs to meet. We will post new members links so people are aware who is willing to help and what groups they belong to and what their groups want to achieve overall, but we will only be able to vouch ourselves for few people for safety reasons so other groups will be always encouraged to create their own web pages, blogs or social media pages and document their journeys and share it with us while we will also support them as much as we can as a sibling group.
Well I hope this all makes sense to you guys and I cannot wait to share all the endeavours we will get up to this year and if you yourself are from Ireland and want to get involved get in touch with me via dA or email me on email@example.com and we can see how we can help you out.
Also I would really appreciate feedback from people about this "in full" and also when we start rolling projects what do you think of it?
It will be a lot of work and a lot of new skills to gain so "fingers crossed" I don't do too many fuck ups, but honestly criticism is always appreciated so we can improve in the future and hear about what do yous think on the project works and doesn't work and to be fair I know some of you in here have amazing ideas too so would really love to hear from you
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! and thank you so much for being such inspiration and mental help this past year I know dA has a lot of dodgy members on it like any other site, but few of you that I have met in here and talk to quiet frequently when I'm online are more precious than gold by being such a big and strong moral support when its most needed and your truly give me hope that this project will happen as long as we connect more with like minded people who are willing to help in making something big happen.
